It is built on and hosted by Shopify Inc., an e-commerce platform provider headquartered at 151 O'Connor Street, Ground Floor, Ottawa, Ontario K2P 2L8, Canada. Shopify provides the technology our online store runs on. All product listings, pricing, customer communications, and order fulfillment are the direct responsibility of JDM City Virginia.

JDM City Virginia is an independent seller of used automotive parts. We are not a franchise, subsidiary, or authorized dealer of any vehicle manufacturer, engine brand, or original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

a) Platform: Shopify

• Our online store runs on Shopify's cloud infrastructure, and online payments are processed in Shopify's PCI DSS Level 1 compliant payment environment.
• Shopify's own terms and privacy policy govern its technical platform. Our policies govern every transaction between you and JDM City Virginia.
• Card details entered at our online checkout are processed by Shopify Payments and/or other third-party payment processors. JDM City Virginia does not receive or store your full card number from online checkout.

b) Business Scope

• We import and sell used JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) engines and transmissions sourced directly from Japan, along with KDM (Korean Domestic Market) engines and selected used JDM parts, including seats, wheels, and exterior and interior parts.
• Our team can help confirm details such as engine compression, VIN compatibility, and shipping before you buy. Final responsibility for fitment remains with the buyer, as stated in our Warranty Policy.
• Installation is the buyer's responsibility. Under our Warranty Policy, engines and transmissions must be installed by a certified mechanic for warranty coverage to apply.
• This website is operated from the United States and is intended for customers in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please contact us before placing an order.

3. Products Sold & Condition Disclosure

Unless a product listing clearly states otherwise, every product sold by JDM City Virginia is a used, pre-owned automotive part removed from a donor vehicle. We do not manufacture, remanufacture, or rebuild the parts we sell. Signs of prior use, such as surface rust, minor oil seepage, aged hoses and seals, and cosmetic wear, are normal for used parts and are not defects.

Products that carry our limited warranty are covered only as described in our Warranty Policy, and any implied warranties on those products are limited to the duration stated there. All other products are sold "as-is," and all implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are disclaimed to the extent permitted by law under the Uniform Commercial Code as adopted in Virginia (Va. Code § 8.2-316). Please read every product description, condition note, and mileage disclosure (where provided) before placing an order.

• Used Performance Engines & Transmissions: Covered only by the shorter limited warranty period stated in our Warranty Policy, unless otherwise specified on your sales receipt.
• Rotary Engines (Mazda RX-7 13BT / 13BTT / 20B): Sold with no warranty.
• ECUs, Wiring & Electronics: Sold as-is.
• Accessories: Final sale and sold as-is.
• Body Parts, Interior Parts, Seats, Wheels & Suspension: Sold as-is.

b) What the Buyer Must Verify

• Fitment: The engine or transmission code, VIN compatibility, drive type (2WD, 4WD, or AWD), and transmission type (automatic or manual) for your vehicle.
• Emissions & Inspection: That your vehicle will pass the emissions and safety inspections required where it is registered after installation. Smog and emissions compliance is not the responsibility of JDM City Virginia.
• Installation & Required Parts: That the part is installed by a certified mechanic and that the required replacement parts listed in our Warranty Policy are installed.

All original content on this website, including product descriptions written by our team, page designs, graphics, logos, and photographs taken or commissioned by JDM City Virginia, is the property of JDM City Virginia LLC and is protected by United States copyright law, including the Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.

We use them only to identify compatible vehicles and the donor vehicles that parts were removed from. Their use does not mean that JDM City Virginia is affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any of these manufacturers.

b) Permitted Use of Our Content

• You may view, print, or download content from this website only for your personal, non-commercial use in evaluating products to buy.

5. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to any transaction with JDM City Virginia.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly with our team shall be brought in the state courts serving Prince William County and the City of Manassas, Virginia, or in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division. To the extent permitted by law, you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of these courts.

• Sale of Goods: The Uniform Commercial Code as adopted in Virginia (Va. Code Title 8.2) governs the sale of all goods sold by JDM City Virginia.

Virginia also requires an annual safety inspection. Buyers are responsible for confirming that their vehicle will pass both after installation.

b) Maryland

• The Maryland Consumer Protection Act (Md. Code, Com. Law § 13-101 et seq.) prohibits unfair and deceptive trade practices.
• Maryland law (Md. Code, Com. Law § 2-316.1) limits a seller's ability to exclude implied warranties on consumer goods. For Maryland consumers, our "as-is" terms apply only to the extent Maryland law permits.
• Vehicles in Maryland's Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) areas must pass emissions testing. Buyers must confirm that the replacement engine will allow the vehicle to pass.

c) North Carolina

• North Carolina's Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 75-1.1) prohibits unfair or deceptive acts in commerce.
• North Carolina requires vehicle safety inspections, and emissions inspections apply in certain counties. Because the list of emissions counties has been changing, check the current NCDMV requirements for your county before installation.

d) California

• The Consumers Legal Remedies Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 1750 et seq.) protects buyers against deceptive trade practices.
• California Air Resources Board (CARB) rules strictly limit engine changes in on-road vehicles. Many JDM engine swaps are not legal in California without a CARB Executive Order or Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) referee approval. California buyers must confirm compliance before buying.
• California Proposition 65 warnings may apply to used engines and automotive parts.
• California residents have privacy rights under the CCPA/CPRA, which are described in our Privacy Policy.

e) Texas

• The Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act (Tex. Bus. & Com. Code § 17.41 et seq.) prohibits false, misleading, or deceptive representations.
• Emissions testing is required in certain Texas counties. A replacement engine may affect OBD readiness, so check your county's requirements before installation.

f) New York

• New York General Business Law § 349 prohibits deceptive business practices.
• New York requires annual safety and OBD emissions inspections and has adopted California's emission standards for many newer vehicles. Buyers must confirm that an engine swap will pass New York inspection.

g) All Other US States

For customers in all other states, this Legal Notice is governed by Virginia law, and the Uniform Commercial Code applies to all product sales. Some jurisdictions, such as Massachusetts, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia, restrict "as-is" sales of consumer goods; where those laws apply, our disclaimers apply only to the extent permitted. If any provision of this Legal Notice conflicts with a consumer protection law of your state that cannot be waived, that provision is changed only as much as needed to comply. 7. Limitation of Liability

• Lost Income: Lost wages, lost profits, or other income lost because of vehicle downtime.
• Secondary Damage: Damage to other vehicle components, systems, or fluids after a part is installed.
